Project review

Research shows that more than 50% of all projects have major shortcomings and 25% fail completely. A project review can be a significant aid to get wayward projects back onto the rails.
Our approach
Amtec carries out project reviews using a structured process that looks at a number of facets of the project. It looks at planning, progress monitoring, resourcing, dependencies, constraints, reporting, and risk management to assess whether the management processes conform to best practice. It then looks at the objectives of the project to determine whether the plan is still firmly focused on delivering them.
The review comprises a combination of assessment of project documentation and information gathered from staff in key project roles, either using structured interviews or workshops. A review report will summarise the status of the project and it will give recommendations that will indicate the best route towards successful completion.
Benefits of our approach
Common situations, which indicate a project review would be beneficial, are:
  • gives early warning of potential problems.
  • provides an opportunity, and assistance, to refocus.
  • provides guidance on risk avoidance
  • gives assurance that good practice methods are in place.
  • establishes confidence that the project is fit to move to the next stage.
  • if the situation is not recoverable then a review will help to minimize damage.
